General Questions

Urbin Attic is a convenient, on demand storage service that helps you reclaim your space and declutter your life.

You can store just about anything with us including clothing, collectibles, household goods and oversized items like furniture, appliances, sporting goods, or holiday decorations. We pick up, store and return your items at the click of a button. Our online “attic” allows you to catalog your items with photos and descriptions, so you can access your stuff without ever having to visit a storage facility.

Whenever it's most convenient for you.

Just pick a date and time window during your check out. We can be there in as little as 48 hours, or you can schedule up to one month in advance.
Our typical delivery hours are 9am-6pm PST, Monday thru Saturday
However, if that timeframe doesn't work for you, just email or call and we’ll do our best to meet your needs.

We store all your stuff in our secure facilities in the Puget Sound area. At Urbin Attic, we own our own warehouses. We never hand your stuff off to a 3rd party, so you know it’s always in excellent hands.
Urbin Attic is open and delivering every day except Sunday and the following holidays:

"My Attic", your personal online inventory manager, makes it easy to record, organize, and track all your stuff by uploading photos and adding descriptions. Please make sure to log on and use it while you're packing. Trust us, you'll be glad you did.
Yes we offer a variety of insurance options:
 

Option 1 - Basic Value Protection - FREE and included with all orders

This is the most economical protection option available to you and is the minimum level of responsibility Urbin Attic must assume for a household goods shipment. This option provides coverage at $0.60 per pound per item. In case of loss or damage, the liability is $0.60 times the net weight of the lost or damaged goods. In the event of a loss or damage to one of a matched pair or set of items, Urbin Attic's maximum liability will be limited to the damage or loss of only the individual item.

Option 2 - Replacement Cost Coverage with Deductible

This option provides full value coverage less a $300 deductible to the customer and a maximum Urbin Attic liability up to the declared value or $5.00 times the net weight of the shipment, whichever is greater. If the you fail to select a level of valuation protection on the bill of lading, replacement value protection will be the default level in the case of a loss or damage claim. In the case of loss or damage Urbin Attic must repair the damaged goods to your satisfaction, reimburse you or replace the damaged goods for any amount above the $300 deductible. The $300 deductible applies to the entire shipment rather than each individual item.

Option 3 - Replacement Cost Coverage with No Deductible

This option provides full value replacement coverage for the customer and a maximum carrier liability up to the declared value or $5.00 times the net weight of the shipment, whichever is greater. In the case of loss or damage the carrier will either repair, to the customer's satisfaction, reimburse, or replace the lost or damaged item. If the carrier decides to reimburse for or replace a lost or damaged item, the carrier may claim the lost or damaged item as its property.

Your belongings will be stored in our access-restricted, temperature controlled, high security warehouses. In addition, all Urbin Attic drivers are bonded professionals with years of experience meeting the mission-critical needs of our clients.
To protect the safety and security of all our customers’ stuff, we don’t allow public access at our warehouse. That’s why we make storage super easy by picking up and delivering your stuff right to your door so you never have to visit a storage unit again.

Pricing and Billing

Unlike with traditional storage, you only pay for the space you use. No more paying for empty space in a storage unit! At Urbin Attic, all of our fees are on a per-item basis. Our bins start at $4 per month and hold over 3 cubic feet, but we can accommodate large furniture and other oversized items as well.

There is a $24 per month storage minimum and 3 month commitment.
If your order contains only regular sized items there is a $10 per trip fee, if you have any oversized items the per trip fee is $80.
Return deliveries require 48-hour notice. A $25 fee will be applied to appointments that are rescheduled or cancelled with less than 48-hour notice.
Labor costs are $35 per mover, per hour, with a one hour minimum for all jobs. The first hour is always free and included in your order.

Your monthly storage subscription officially begins on the day of your initial pickup.
Your first payment is charged on the day of your first pickup, and will include any additional items, materials or labor charges incurred during your pickup.
Billing is automatic so you don’t have to worry about it. Your second payment will be due 30 days after your first pick-up date.
Here’s how it works:

We will return your items whenever you want; however, we do have a $24 per month, 3 month storage commitment. If you remove your items prior to the 90 days you will be charged your original monthly rent for the remaining time. In addition, if the total number of items being stored falls under $24, you will still be charged $24 per month.

Yes. If you store your stuff with us for five days or less during your last month, your bill will be pro-rated. However if the account is not closed after five days, the full monthly rate is charged for that month.

The state of Washington requires all movers to charge "transportation" fees. We have developed fees for the pick up and return of your items to meet this requirement. There is one per trip fee applied per order. Our trip fees are:
$10 per trip for orders containing only regular sized items.
$80 per trip for orders containing oversized items.
Labor costs are $35 per mover, per hour, with a one hour minimum for all jobs. The first hour is always free and included in your order.

Pickups
Pick-up fees are calculated based on the type of item we’re picking up, whether you will require additional services (like disassembly or packing), and how long it takes to load all you're stuff. Bin pick-up fee is always a flat rate of $1.00
When you schedule your pick up, an item based pick-up fee is added to your cart. It is important to be as accurate as possible when choosing the type of item you’d like us to pick up
When we arrive for your pick up, our team will confirm your estimate and provide a written Service Order that will take into account anything you may have overlooked.

To avoid extra pick-up charges we suggest you be well organized, have your bins packed and ready when we arrive for pickup, disassemble all furniture, and have a clear path to what needs to be picked up to the street.

Deliveries
Delivery fees are calculated based on the type of item we’re delivering. Our Bin delivery fee is always a flat rate of $1.00.
Deliveries typically require 48 hours’ notice. But In some cases, it may be possible to make a rush delivery. Please contact our Customer Support team to make this request.

It's easy! When you no longer need storage, simply log in to your Urbin Attic account, go to My Attic and put a check next to all of your items, then click on the “Schedule Delivery or Pick-up” button.
All of your items in storage will be returned to you. If you have bins our movers will wait up to 20 minutes for you to empty them. If you need more time, no problem! We can schedule a pickup of the bins within 48 hours. Any time after that and storage fees will apply.

Pick Up & Delivery

Just pack your bins and boxes. We'll pick them up and seal them with a unique bar coded seal. We’ll also provide any moving blankets, shrink-wrap, and other equipment or materials necessary to safeguard your oversized items during transport. All of this is included in your monthly storage rent. We strongly recommend that you safeguard your vulnerable or breakable items by using bubble wrap or paper.
We will e-mail you 24-48 hours prior to your requested delivery date. If you are a “no show” we will charge you $25
If you want one or more of your bins back for any reason, we’ll deliver them directly to your door within 36 to 48 hours of your request. Or you can choose a date and delivery window that works for you on our website. We deliver 6 days a week and provide 2-4 hour appointment windows.

We can deliver one container or any number of items back at any time. Keep in mind that, for our customers’ privacy, we don’t open your bins, so we can’t deliver individual items out of a bin.

 

Packing and Storage

Sorry due to Washington State Law our team members are not allowed to pack your Bins and/or Boxes.
We recommend for safety and easy access no more than 40 pounds per bin.
Of course! Our professional movers will wait up to 20 minutes while you pack your bins. If you think you’ll need a bit more time, please schedule a pick up anytime within two weeks of receiving your bins.
After we drop off your bins, you can keep them as long as you need. However, we recommend that you schedule your pickup within 2 weeks of receiving your bins. If you keep the bins for more than 14 days without scheduling a pickup, we will consider this a purchase of the bins, and you will be charged $40 per bin on the 15th day.
We use 7.5" fixed security bin seals designed to detect and deter theft or contamination. With distinct serial numbers, they are truly one time use only. They fit perfectly into small holes on each end of your Urbin Attic bin to ensure your goods are as safe as can be.
With Urbin Attic, you only pay for the storage you use. If you’re unsure how many bins you’ll need give us a call and we’ll work with you to calculate your space requirements. Then, after you’ve packed, if there are any unused bins we'll pick them up and you will only be charged for the bins that you use. Each Urbin Attic bin is three cubic feet, and its dimensions are 27” length x 17” width x 12.5” height. Each bin can hold:
  • 30 shirts
  • or 12 pairs of shoes
  • or 40 pairs of jeans
  • or 10 sweaters
  • or 65 paperback books
No problem! Urbin Attic can store oversized or oddly shaped items that might not fit in one of our standard bins or wardrobe boxes. Oversized items include:
  • Furniture - (beds, chairs, desks, tables, dressers, futons, etc)
  • Appliances - (fridge/freezer, air conditioners, washer/dryer, flat screen TVs)
  • Sporting Goods - (bicycles, kayaks, golf clubs, snowboards, skis, etc)
  • Household Goods - (rugs, lamps, etc)

You’ll be able to list the specific oversized items you need to store when you get started.

Yes, we can supply packing materials such as boxes, bubble wrap, and glass and dish boxes at your request. Just let us know what you need.
To ensure the safety of our employees, our customers, and their stuff, the following items are prohibited from being stored in Urbin Attic facilities:
  • Any living things - this includes things like animals, insects, plants, etc.
  • Firearms, ammunition or explosives
  • Flammables of any kind (gas, diesel, kerosene, oil, paint, etc.)
  • Food or other perishable goods
  • Liquid items - anything that can spill or leak
  • Illegal items - including stolen or counterfeit goods, drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Hazardous, toxic or poisonous items or materials
  • Items that produce gas or odors
  • Personal property which would result in the violation of any law or regulation of any governmental authority
